St. Philomena’s League of Holy Families

Now, more than ever, we need pious Catholic families to heal our modern day civilization. This league seeks to increase the number of such families through consecration and fervent devotion to St. Philomena and the spreading of her devotion.

The family that wishes to enroll commits to the following:

• The father and mother of the family consecrates their family to St. Philomena using one of these two formulas 1  2 or a prayer of their own and renews this consecration at least once a year, preferably on one of St. Philomena’s feasts.
• Fervent devotion to St. Philomena is taught and practiced by the entire family. This can be done by a daily family recitation of her litany, the wearing of her cord, or some other means decided by the parents.
• The children of the family are taught to venerate and imitate the virtues of St. Philomena.
• The family works, however they can, to spread devotion to St. Philomena and secure her cause in the Church.
• It is strongly encouraged, but not required, that the family enrolls in the Living Rosary and prays their family decade together daily.
• It is strongly encouraged, but not required, that the family donate regularly to the Sanctuary of St. Philomena in Mugnano Italy (where her relics rest) to assist in its up-keep.
• It is strongly encouraged, but not required, that the women of the family enroll in the Daughters of Light.
